Good Date Ideas
Good date ideas seem like an easy thing to come up with, but when you sit down and try to actually think of some….well, most people draw a blank.
Dinner and a movie? Well, I got to tell you…..I consider myself to be a creative and innovative person, but I am a sucker for dinner and a movie.
I think it became worse after I had kids. I just want to sit still and float off into an imaginary world for a while where there are no PTO meetings, no dirty dishes, no soccer practice…….
But I digress – back to the subject. Where was I again?
Oh, yeah…..dinner and a movie. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. But sometimes you need some variety.
And even women (who are often the most romantic ones, being from Venus) often have trouble producing good date ideas. In fact, the harder you think, the more you can’t think of anything.
After all, I write a blog about relationships, and even I have trouble when I sit down to produce ideas sometimes.
The other problem is that I don’t have hours and hours to surf the internet looking for ideas. Unfortunately, many sites seem to have the SAME old ideas. It’s like they all copy each other. And even worse than that, some sites make you read through tons of information to get to the part you want to know.
So what to do?
Well, I found this little ebook that I really like. It is called 300 Creative Dates and is written by one of those Oprah “experts” that were often on her show. He has collected all these ideas in one place for your convenience. All you have to do is download the ebook and read it. You can even print it off and make notes (or mark things off as you do them). It also comes with some good bonuses to sweeten the deal, and who doesn’t like something that’s free?
I am a convenience kind of girl. I am so busy that I want to get my information in the simplest and easiest way possible. After all, time is money.
So rather than rack my brain trying to come up with an amazingly dazzling list, I am going to direct you to the good date ideas list that already exists. Why redo work that’s already been done? (See? Told you I like the easy way!)
I can’t help myself. So I am going to give you a few good date ideas that I personally like. So here goes.
1. Book an overnight train ride with your own personal sleeping car (complete with a romantic, candlelight meal).
2. Purchase an hour of ballroom dance instruction for the two of you. (Guys, this one will really get you points with your girl.)
3. Find a nice, peaceful river to float (NOT rafting). The peaceful surroundings and slow pace are romantic in themselves.
4. Sit out on your deck or balcony with a blanket and cocoa under the stars. (We do this one a lot after the kids are in bed.)
If you have some really creative ideas I would love to include them here. Please leave your good date ideas in the comment area below and I will post them.
It’s getting late and I have got to check the movie schedule for tonight. (I know….don’t say it.)
Have a good weekend everyone!
